- Softening butter while preparing ingredients: slice mozzarella and tomatoes, and rinse basil.
- Butter one side of each slice of sourdough. Layer mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil on the unbuttered side of one slice. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and season.
- Preheat skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich and grill the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute. Slice in half and serve warm.
