- Set up a double boiler to melt 2 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar for about 5 minutes until glossy.
- Whisk in 4 large eggs one at a time into the cooled chocolate mixture, incorporating each fully before adding the next.
- Sift together 3/4 cup cocoa powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt, then add to the mixture with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in 2/3 cup of all-purpose flour with a spatula until just combined.
- Prepare an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and transfer the brownie batter into the pan, smoothing the top.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of M&M's evenly on top of the batter without pressing them in.
