  • 1 medium Onion Finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Dried Sage Can swap with dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme Fresh thyme works well too
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper Adjust to personal taste
  • 1 tsp Salt Use according to preference
For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Ensure fully thawed
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for egg wash
For Cooking
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil Can replace with butter if desired

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and add finely diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing for 4-5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed onions and garlic with your sausage meat and seasonings, mixing well.
  4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut into rectangles approximately 4 inches wide.
  5. Place a generous spoonful of filling onto one half of each pastry rectangle and fold over, sealing the edges.
  6. Make vent holes on top of each roll and brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool slightly on a wire rack and serve warm.
