Skull Bun Preparation
- Grease a skull pan with butter. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar, salt, softened butter, and lukewarm water. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Punch dough down, divide into 8 pieces, press into skull pan cavities. Let rise for another hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake skull buns for 14-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow buns to cool completely on a wire rack.
Cheeseburger Preparation
- Divide ground beef into 8 portions, shape into small skulls, and chill for 15-20 minutes.
- Season patties with salt and pepper before cooking.
- Heat skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and cook skull-shaped patties for 3 minutes on each side.
- Place cheese slices on patties during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assembly
- Slice cooled buns in half, place a cheeseburger patty on the bottom half, and add favorite toppings.
- Cap with the top half of the skull bun and serve.
