Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Thai Basil Beef Rolls
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 pound of ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce, stirring to combine. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, lower the heat to medium and add 1 cup of shredded carrots and 1 cup of chopped bell peppers to the skillet. Stir for just 1-2 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened but still retain their crunch.
  3. Fill a shallow dish with warm water and dip one rice paper wrapper in for about 10-15 seconds until flexible. Lay it flat on a clean surface or a damp towel.
  4. On the softened rice paper, place 2-3 fresh basil leaves in the center, followed by a generous scoop of the beef and vegetable mixture, about 2-3 tablespoons.
  5. Carefully fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll it tightly away from you, tucking in the sides as you go to secure the filling inside.
  6. Arrange the freshly made Thai Basil Beef Rolls on a platter. These rolls are best served immediately for optimal texture. Pair them with your choice of dipping sauce for added flavor.
