Cooking Steps
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium-high heat. Add lean ground beef, breaking it up, and cook for about 5 minutes until evenly browned. Stir in grated ginger and minced garlic in the last 2 minutes.
- While the beef cooks, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 7-9 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Once the beef is browned, carefully drain excess fat. Lower heat and add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Pour into the beef mixture, stirring constantly. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to combine with the beef mixture. Let sit for about 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Remove from heat, serve hot garnished with sliced green onions.
