Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium-high heat. Add lean ground beef, breaking it up, and cook for about 5 minutes until evenly browned. Stir in grated ginger and minced garlic in the last 2 minutes.
  2. While the beef cooks, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 7-9 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  3. Once the beef is browned, carefully drain excess fat. Lower heat and add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Pour into the beef mixture, stirring constantly. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to combine with the beef mixture. Let sit for about 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Remove from heat, serve hot garnished with sliced green onions.
