Ingredients
  

Beef Marinade
  • 1 lb Flank Steak can substitute with skirt steak
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tbsp Peanut Oil or vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch total for marinade and sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda to tenderize tougher cuts
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Chicken or Beef Stock for flavor
  • 2 tbsp Shaoxing Wine or dry sherry for gluten-free
  • 1 tsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp Brown Sugar or white sugar
Stir-Fry
  • 1 head Broccoli chopped into florets
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tsp Ginger minced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and marinate it with soy sauce, peanut oil, and 1 tbsp of cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing chicken or beef stock, Shaoxing wine, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, and remaining cornstarch in a separate bowl.
  3. Steam the broccoli florets by boiling water in a skillet, adding broccoli, and covering for 1 minute.
  4. Sear the marinated beef in a hot skillet for 2-3 minutes until browned, making sure not to overcrowd.
  5. Add minced garlic and ginger to the cooked beef, stir for 30 seconds, then add the steamed broccoli and prepared sauce.
  6. Mix well and cook for an additional minute until the sauce thickens, then serve hot.
