  • 1 cup Gruyère Cheese Grated, or substitute with Swiss/aged cheddar
  • 4 Eggs Large, fresh
  • 1 cup Cream or Whole Milk For custard texture
For the Crust
  • 1 crust Pie Crust Homemade or store-bought, blind baked

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast butternut squash for 25-30 minutes.
  2. Sauté finely chopped onion in olive oil until soft and translucent for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Whisk together eggs, cream/milk, and Gruyère cheese in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pre-bake pie crust at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes. Combine squash and onion in the crust, then pour custard mixture over the top.
  5. Bake quiche at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes until set and golden brown.
  6. Let quiche cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
