  • 2 pounds Beef Chuck Roast can substitute with ribeye or flank steak
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar can use rice or red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Korean BBQ Sauce available at Walmart or Asian markets
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce use gluten-free soy sauce or Liquid Aminos for gluten-free
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 4 cloves Garlic peeled and crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
For Cooking
  • 1 medium Onion sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Oil for cooking

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Freeze the beef chuck roast for 40 minutes to 2 hours to make slicing easier.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, apple cider vinegar, Korean BBQ sauce, soy sauce, water, crushed garlic, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
  4. Preheat a large skillet over high heat for about 2 minutes, add a splash of sesame oil.
  5. Cook the marinated beef in batches for about 5 minutes each, stirring until browned.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot, paired with rice, vegetables, and garnishes like onions or sesame seeds.
