Preparing the Chicken
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and crumble.
- Rub chicken breasts with olive oil, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Sear the chicken in the same skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Reduce heat, coat chicken with BBQ sauce, and sprinkle cheddar over the top.
- Add crumbled bacon on top, then transfer to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let rest, garnish with green onions and optional red pepper flakes, slice, and serve.
