Step-by-Step Instructions for Juicy Chicken Burgers
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, Musselman’s apple butter, chopped cilantro, cumin, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and ground pepper. Gently mix the ingredients until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a large burger patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Place the patties on a parchment-lined tray and set aside.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium heat or heat a skillet over medium heat with olive oil. Add the patties and cook for 8-10 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sweet onions and a pinch of salt, stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Stir in a spoonful of apple butter during the last minute.
  5. Once cooked, assemble your burgers with a patty on the bottom bun, topped with caramelized onions, and the top bun. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
