Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula.
- Gently fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Sprinkle each unbaked cookie generously with flaky sea salt.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain slightly soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
