Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Pork or turkey or chicken
  • 1 cup Kimchi well-fermented
  • 1 small Yellow Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tbsp Rice Wine optional
  • 1 large Egg beaten
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil or vegetable oil
  • to taste Salt & Pepper sea salt preferred
Wrapping & Cooking
  • 30 pieces Dumpling Wrappers store-bought or homemade
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for pan-frying
  • 1 cup Cold Water
Toppings
  • 1 tbsp Black Sesame Seeds optional
  • 3 tbsp Green Onions chopped, optional

Equipment

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine ground pork, kimchi, onion, garlic, and ginger in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add soy sauce, rice wine, egg, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and marinate for 20 minutes.
Wrapping
  1. Lay out dumpling wrappers and keep wet edges for sealing with water.
  2. Fill each wrapper with a tablespoon of filling and seal tightly.
Cooking
  1. Pan-fry dumplings in vegetable oil until golden brown, then add water and steam covered for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Optionally, boil dumplings in water until they float, about 5-7 minutes.
Serving
  1. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve warm with dipping sauces.
