Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated. Gradually stir in flour and baking powder until smooth. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes.
- In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream, blending until fluffy.
- Once the brownie base has cooled slightly, pour the cheesecake mixture over it, smoothing the top.
- Lower the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and bake for 35–40 minutes until edges are set but center jiggles slightly.
- Allow the brownie cheesecake to cool to room temperature. Then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Notes
For best results, allow the brownie layer to cool completely, check for doneness with a toothpick, and refrigerate overnight for improved texture and flavor.
