Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Clean the mussels by rinsing under cold running water and scrubbing the shells. Discard any mussels that do not close when tapped.
  2. Prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining if necessary. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in white wine and allow to simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it reduces slightly.
  5. Add cleaned mussels to the skillet, cover, and cook for 5-7 minutes until opened.
  6. Add shrimp and stir gently, cooking for 3-4 minutes until shrimp turns pink and opaque.
  7. Reduce heat to low, pour in heavy cream, and stir. Let sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
  8. Finish with lemon juice, zest, and parsley. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
