Step-by-Step Instructions for Banana Oatmeal Bars
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas. Add 1 cup of nut butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; mix until creamy.
  3. Add 2 cups of rolled oats, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the banana mixture, then stir until combined.
  4. Drizzle in 1/4 cup of maple syrup and fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until well mixed.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and smooth it out. Optionally, sprinkle more chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment overhang and slicing into bars.
