Step-by-Step Instructions for Banana Oatmeal Bars
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash 3 ripe bananas. Add 1 cup of nut butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; mix until creamy.
- Add 2 cups of rolled oats, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the banana mixture, then stir until combined.
- Drizzle in 1/4 cup of maple syrup and fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until well mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking pan and smooth it out. Optionally, sprinkle more chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment overhang and slicing into bars.
