  • 8 cups Crusty Bread Use stale sourdough or French bread
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter Melted
For the Vegetables
  • 1 large Yellow Onion Finely diced
  • 2 cups Celery Finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks)
For Flavoring
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Sage Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Thyme Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Rosemary Chopped
  • 4 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth Warm broth

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cube stale sourdough or French bread and set it aside to dry if using fresh bread. Dice the onion and chop the celery.
Sautéing Vegetables
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the onion and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until translucent. Incorporate the celery and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. Transfer vegetables to a mixing bowl. Add cubed bread, sage, thyme, rosemary, and season with salt and pepper. Gradually add warmed broth, stirring to moisten the bread.
Baking
  1. Grease a baking dish and spread the stuffing evenly. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
