Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt ½ cup of unsalted butter. Add the finely diced yellow onion and chopped celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables with cubed crusty bread. Toss to coat the bread evenly.
  4. Add freshly chopped herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary) to the bread mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.
  5. Gradually pour about 4 cups of warmed broth into the mixture. Stir gently until everything is well integrated.
  6. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and spoon the stuffing mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly. Cover with foil.
  7. Place the covered baking dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown and crisp.
