Method
 

Brownie Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare the boxed fudge brownie mix according to the package instructions, mixing until smooth. Grease or line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper. Pour the brownie batter into the dish and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.
  2. Let the brownies cool completely before adding the strawberry layer.
Strawberry Layer
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt ¼ cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in 1 teaspoon of strawberry extract, ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream, and 1 cup of powdered sugar until smooth. Add red food coloring if desired.
  2. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cooled brownie layer and spread it evenly.
Ganache Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, heat ½ cup of heavy whipping cream until it simmers. Pour it over 1 cup of dark chocolate chips in a mixing bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk until smooth and pour over the strawberry layer evenly.
Serving
  1. Allow the brownies to set at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes until the ganache firms up. Slice into squares and serve with chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream if desired.
