Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat 2 eggs until frothy, then mix in ¾ cup of milk, ¼ cup of melted unsalted butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of diced apples, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg into the batter.
- Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with oil.
- Pour the batter into the preheated waffle maker, using about ½ cup for each donut shape, and close the lid. Cook for approximately 3–5 minutes.
- While the donuts are cooking, whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- Remove the waffles from the maker and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm donuts just before serving.
