Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Generously season your chuck roast with salt and pepper on all sides.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the seasoned chuck roast and sear it for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. While the roast is searing, chop your onion, garlic, carrots, and potatoes into bite-sized pieces. In the bottom of your Crock Pot, layer the chopped veggies.
  4. Carefully place the seared roast on top of the layered vegetables in the Crock Pot. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the roast.
  5. Cover the Crock Pot with its lid and set it to cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
  6. Once the cooking time is up, carefully remove the roast and vegetables from the Crock Pot. Allow the roast to rest for about 10-15 minutes before slicing or shredding.
