Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 can Cherry Pie Filling
For the Crust
  • 1 package Refrigerated Pie Crust
For Frying
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil For frying
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Corn Syrup Optional
  • 1 tbsp Water Add more for thinner glaze

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot until it reaches 190°C (375°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Roll out refrigerated pie crust and cut out circles.
  4. Place filling on each circle, moisten edges, fold and crimp.
  5. Carefully fry hand pies in small batches for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  7. Brush glaze over warm hand pies and allow to rest for a few minutes.
