- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a standard muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, combine butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.

- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet batter, alternating with mashed bananas, until just combined.
- Prepare the cream cheese filling by blending cream cheese, sugar, egg, flour, and vanilla.
- Spoon the muffin batter into lined cups halfway, add cream cheese filling, and top with remaining batter.
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top, if using.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean.
